TrashMart
Option 1: in the app
- Open TrashMart and sign in.
- Go to Profile, then Manage account.
- Tap Close account and confirm.
Option 2: by email
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, email us from the email address on your account, with your TrashMart username and the subject "Delete my TrashMart account". We will confirm the request and close the account within 7 days.
Deletion requests
What happens straight away
- Your posts are removed from the marketplace and search.
- You are signed out, cannot sign in again, and stop receiving notifications.
What is erased after 30 days
- Your login and email address
- Your name, bio and profile photo
- Your posts and their photos
- Your likes, saved sellers and block list
The 30-day wait lets us investigate any fraud or abuse report made before the account was closed. Anything connected to an open report is kept until that report is resolved.
What is kept
- Reviews and confirmed sales are kept, because they are the other person's trading history. Your name on them is replaced with "Deleted user".
- Conversations stay in the other person's Messages list, showing "Deleted user". They are erased once both people have removed them and no message has been sent for 90 days.
- Reports are kept while being dealt with, and erased 12 months after they are closed.
- Your username is held for 90 days after your account is erased, so nobody can impersonate you, then released.
Deleting a single post
You can delete a post at any time without closing your account: open the post in the app and delete it. It is hidden straight away and erased after 30 days.
